Job Summary:

The HR/Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration of Elevanta’s unique self-funded employee benefits program. Working in a team and collaborative environment, this position works in our benefit service center managing our complex program. The HR/Benefits Manager has frequent contact with employer groups participating in the program and must possess a working knowledge of employee benefits programs and government regulations. 

Job Duties:

  • Processes benefit changes on a daily basis
  • Coordinates program open enrollment
  • Handles COBRA administration
  • Identifies and recommends changes in polices and procedures
  • Implementation of new groups
  • Handles data transfers with ASO provider
  • Resolves claim discrepancies with ASO provider
  • Prepares and distributes invoices to all franchisee members ensuring enrollment changes and qualify events are processed accurately 
  • Research monthly billing discrepancies for members
  • Verifies the calculation of the monthly premium statement for all group insurance policies and maintains statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs
  • Oversees preparation of annual 5500 filings
  • Direct liaison with franchisee-members, handling calls and resolving issues
  • Resolves administrative problems with the carrier representatives
  • Works with HRIS provider to implement annual plan changes
  • Maintains files of history, data, correspondence, reports and forms
  • Oversees record keeping and retrieval methods in compliance with government regulations
  • Keeps current on regulations pertaining to the Affordable Care Act, COBRA and the Department of Labor that may affect the program and/or its participants

Qualifications

  • Four-year college level degree in human resources or related field
  • 5+ years in benefits or related benefits administration
  • CEBS certification, or equivalent work experience
  • Must have experience and knowledge of PC-based computer systems with a strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of company and departmental policies and procedures

JOB SUMMARY

Elevanta, an Atlanta area association management company manages several franchisee associations made up of franchise owners from multiple brands (Supercuts, Burger King, Buffalo Wild Wings, Qdoba, and more). Elevanta has developed a unique suite of services for the association members and their employees. Specifically, Elevanta has a self-funded group health insurance program that has experienced single digit renewals for over six years.

An experienced sales professional will be responsible for advising employers (franchisees/restaurant/salon owners) on their employee benefits options and promoting our self-funded group health insurance program to franchisees of Elevanta’s client organizations. This position may serve as a first point of contact for franchisees regarding other member services as well (business insurance, payroll, retirement, etc.). The person in this position will travel to conferences, tradeshows, regional meetings and hold outside sales meetings with potential clients. This position is expected to develop and manage their sales pipeline with a robust outbound calling plan to association members.

JOB DUTIES

  • Actively sell Elevanta’s self-funded health program to association members
  • Manage and grow robust sales pipeline
  • Advise employers on Affordable Care Act requirements, their available options, and changes that may need to be made to their benefits programs
  • Educate members regarding their obligations under state and federal laws
  • Make regular contact with members of Elevanta’s client associations through participation in trade shows, daily outbound calls, and responses to questions/information requests
  • Coordinate with Elevanta’s internal and third party vendors & partners to assist business owners with enrollment in services
  • Educate health program participants on the benefits of Elevanta’s other business services
  • Develop long-term relationships with association members and become seen as a knowledgeable and valuable resource

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience: 2+ years’ experience in insurance, sales, or related field
  • Education: High school degree required/Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Licensing: Insurance license in health & life preferred, but not required at date of hire. Must be eligible to meet all state requirements to obtain health & life insurance license.
  • Knowledge of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) preferred but not required at date of hire. Must be able to ascertain and communicate employers’ responsibilities under ACA as part of daily job requirements.
  • Traits required to perform the job: driven, professional phone presence and high level interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain relationships with members, excellent written/oral communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to work independently, good time management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize, good judgment, strong work ethic.
  • Technical: Expert level in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Salesforce

TRAVEL: This position requires travel to meet with clients/potential clients, attend trade shows and participate in regional meetings to educate members on benefits programs. Travel is estimated at 30%.
